The LVN to BSN is a degree program ideal for the licensed vocational nurse (LVN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN) who wants to get a baccalaureate degree in nursing in less than two years, while working full-time. The LVN to BSN (which takes four years) is good if you're new to health care and want the higher level training, responsibility, and salary associated with a BSN, since you'd then be eligible to take the required Registered Nurse (RN) licensure exam.
